It is my pleasure to serve as President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. The Chapter is a vibrant organization and has been busy over the past year. It held its first annual membership drive at Fenway Park and there were about 100 members, including ten new members, and residents in attendance. There was a pre-game event complete with Fenway franks and the Red Sox even won that night. We look forward to making this an annual event and welcome your suggestions as to where it might be held next year.

I am delighted to provide a report on the activities of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. The 2010 Annual Meeting had a final attendance of 105 which included 28 residents. I would particularly like to thank the Chapter members who sponsored a resident, a feature that will also be available for this year's Annual Meeting. We would also like to share our appreciation to the 12 industry partners who contributed to the 2010 meeting with exhibit tables and sponsorships.
